Irina is a self-taught artist whose passion for photography started at the age of thirteen when her uncle offered her a Smena 8M for her birthday. The camera has never left her since, although it has now been replaced by a Digital SLR as well as an ever growing collection of medium format, toy and instant cameras.
Irina's eye is caught by colourful and unique details of her surrounding space that are usually overseen. She holds a soft spot for abandoned places as their decaying beauty is bound to disappear.
Irina has been published in U&I and Photosho Magazines and appeared in radio and television shows in Canada and abroad. She is also the founder and president of the Picture the Cure association, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting emerging and established visual artists through annual live exhibits while donating the full proceeds to cancer-related charities.
Most of the artwork presented on this site can be purchased from Picture The Cure, Imagekind or Etsy websites.
